Josh Bersin's 5 HR Strategies
5 strategies to maximize the employee experience in the new global economy
1. Focus on Employer Branding. Understand how candidates perceive your company and work on it. Communicate this information to your CEO and senior business leaders to force this board, company culture, and work environment to evolve.
2. Adapt salaries and rewards to the demand of the day. I believe that companies should refresh their rewards programs every six months. It is too late for these programs to be annual. When I spoke to companies that gave their employees the opportunity to provide feedback and pay raises with semi-annual plans, it was clear that this was no longer enough. Because there is an overwhelming amount of information related to compensation, you need to get ahead of your employees and introduce a new program before they learn about it.
3. Try to understand the Employee Journey and work on the end-to-end employee experience. This means that you should follow your employee as a candidate during the first day, first month, first half year, first year, first award and so on, including the job application process. You have to walk in their footsteps and experience how they passed. Design thinking concepts are now widespread, and you should use them to create an experience that exists digitally so that people can easily enrich their careers.
4. Rebuild your L&D (Learning and Development) strategy. More could be written about this - but I reminded you that people start leaving companies the moment they realize that they are no longer "learning" new things. You can prevent it.
5. Always keep the CEO and senior leaders informed. They should always know your employee retention rate, how hard it is to hire, and what areas of your business have talent shortages and skill gaps. You will need their help to act quickly. If you need to hire more recruiters, if you need to invest in a new development program, or if you need to radically change business models and adapt them to the day, you will still need the help of senior leaders. In times of competitive growth, CEOs are doing everything they can to help, so take advantage of it.
